State of The Art Maritime Training Center Berths In Nigeria

Hudson Trident Limited, a company providing specialist services to the Maritime and Oil and Gas sectors in Nigeria has established a State of The Art maritime training Center for seafarers, aspiring seafarers and other professionals in the maritime and oil and gas sector. The school which is located in the heart of Lekki, Phase 1, Lagos boasts of modern facilities and equipment. The training center is certified by DNV GL and complies with other local and international regulations.

Speaking during the launch of the school in Lagos, the Managing Director, Mr Lai Are, while conducting journalists around the world class training facilities centre, stated that Hudson Trident Limited provides mandatory and non-mandatory training that complies with international and local standards and regulations, he identified the courses offered by the school to include Ship Handling Course, Offshore Supply Vessel Manoeuvring Course, Tug Handling Course, Dynamic Positioning Courses, Seafarer Development Course, Pilotage and Tug Masters Course, GMDSS Course, Crane Handling Course and other bespoke specialised courses amongst others. The school is equipped with an Offshore Supply Vessel (OSV)/Ship Simulator, Tug Simulator, Crane Simulator, DP Training equipment, GMDSS Simulator and Liquid Bulk Simulator.
The OSV/Ship Simulator is a realistic high quality training simulator for OSV and Ship activities and navigation with the different vessels in a fleet. The system features an innovative high performance concept compliant with NI and DNV requirements and designed for training of teams involved in transferring and supply of anchored mobile offshore units. The Tug boat simulator is a realistic high quality training simulator for Tug handling, Ship escort, mooring, pilotage, berthing both at conventional berths and offshore. The system features an innovative high performance concept compliant with DNV requirements and designed for training of teams involved tug operations.
The Crane Simulator which is designed for training in both routine and emergency conditions. The simulator provides a realistic and safe learning environment, helping to reduce risk of accidents and decrease operating costs. The GMDSS Simulator, this is used to reduce number of wrecks, helps to save lives in the sea and increase commercial effect of usage of public ship radio communications. The GMDSS simulator is designed for training and examining ship radio specialists and sea navigators. Other training equipment include, Liquid Bulk Handling Simulator which is used for providing real time simulation of the process flow control system used in the storage and transfer hazardous bulk liquid cargoes from shore and transfer of hazardous bulk liquid cargoes from shore to ship, and ship to shore, and ship to ship if required and Navis DP tutor for classroom training of DP operators.
The school provides users with the opportunity for increased learning in a conducive environment and will contribute to the development of the maritime and oil and gas industry in Nigeria.
