Netflix To Rally 29% On Pricing Power: Piper

Investors should buy Netflix shares due to the streaming company's impressive customer retention rate in the face of price increases, according to Piper Jaffray, which reiterated its overweight rating.
The firm asked 1,500 U.S. Netflix subscribers about the potential impact of the $2 price increase announced in 2014, which hits customers this year.

The Bank of England is mulling whether to cut interest rates for the first time in over seven years to curb economic fallout from Britain’s vote to exit the EU.
The BoE on Thursday concludes its first interest-rate meeting since Britain voted on June 23 to exit the European Union and subsequent comments by governor Mark Carney that “some monetary policy easing will likely be required over the summer”.
Jonathan Loynes, economist at Capital Economics research group, said “given that the biggest near-term threat to the economy is uncertainty and its adverse effects on confidence, an interest rate cut” could help to re-assure households and markets following the referendum result.

JPMorgan Chase & Co Inc said on Tuesday it will raise the minimum wage for 18,000 U.S. employees over three years, a decision that follows political pressure and moves by some states to raise pay for low-level workers.
The wage increase at the United States' largest bank will be from a current floor of $10.15 an hour to a range of $12 to $16.50 an hour, Chief Executive Jamie Dimon wrote in an op-ed article in the New York Times.

Sao Paulo, Rio Airports Maybe Sold Soon - Brazil Government


Brazil’s government will consider selling airports in Sao Paulo and Rio to help to reduce a large fiscal deficit next year, interim President Michel Temer told the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper on Sunday.
The paper said that the previous government’s objections to a potential sale of the Santos Dumont airport in Rio and Congonhas airport in Sao Paulo are not echoed by Temer, nor the government’s economic team.

Global Oil Supply To Ease Further This Year- OPEC



The Global oil supply glut to ease further in 2016 and will be extended to 2017, says OPEC.
This is due to the reductions in oil output from producers outside the cartels especially United States.
If accurate, this will be a vindication of its Saudi-led strategy since 2014 of squeezing non-OPEC suppliers by keeping production at high levels despite low prices.

Telecommunications Sector Spends N16.7bn On Advertising In Nigeria In 2015 - Reports



2015 Mediafacts report, a key media resource for marketing professionals in West and Central Africa has shown that the telecommunications sector lead as the highest advert spender in 2015 with N16.7 billion Naira.
According to the report, produced annually by mediaReach OMD, a specialist media company that provides media planning, buying, control and inventory management services, the figure represents 17 per cent of the total advertising spend in Nigeria of N97.9billion in the same year.

China Consumer Price Index Rises 1.9 percent In June



China's June consumer inflation grew at its slowest pace since January as increases in food prices eased, while producer prices extended their decline, reinforcing economists' views that more government stimulus steps will be needed to support the economy.
The consumer price index (CPI) rose 1.9 percent in June from a year earlier, compared with a 2.0 percent increase in May, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Sunday. Analysts had expected a 1.8 percent gain, a Reuters poll showed.

Skye Bank Shares Continue To Have Free Fall

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) removed the board and management of the bank on Monday, and replaced them with another, a measure it said, was to redirect the bank.

Consumer Inflation Increases To 14 pct in Egypt Due To Ramadan


Egypt's urban consumer inflation jumped for a third straight month in June as consumer demand spiked during Ramadan, official data showed on Sunday.
Food demand normally surges during the Muslim holy month because of heavy consumption following the dawn-to-dusk fasting period. Ramadan this year began on June 6 and ended on July 5.
Urban consumer inflation accelerated to 14 percent in June from 12.3 percent in May, the statistics agency said.
Core inflation, which excludes items such as fruit and vegetables because their prices fluctuate widely, rose to 12.37 percent year on year in June, up from 12.23 percent in May, the central bank said on Sunday.

Containers Land In Nigeria Seaports Full and Leave Empty- NPA



The Nigerian Ports Authority has laments the rate at which containers that are bringing goods into the country through seaports leave empty on a daily basis.
According to the body, “about 90 per cent of containers bringing in goods from other countries eave the shores of Nigeria empty.”
It also said the level of operational activities at the nation’s ports in the first quarter of 2016 dropped drastically when compared with the same period of 2015.
