As part of effort to boost bilateral
and economic relationship between Nigeria and Russia, the Lagos Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and Russia have concluded plans to formally launch
an e-commerce platform that will boost the quantum of direct trade between the
two countries.
LCCI Director-General, Muda
Yusuf, said the e-commerce platform is a welcome development, coming at a time
when Nigeria seriously needed foreign exchange (forex) from export as a way of
diversifying the economy, and strengthening the non-oil sector. He said the launch will strengthen the
bilateral trade relations between Russia and Nigeria, in addition to boosting
the economic activities between the two countries.
The launch will also afford
business men from both countries to interact and discuss opportunities that
will be mutually beneficial to both countries and a big window to Europe.
